Organizational Background

Established on April 14, 1988, the Mississippi Housing Development Corporation, Inc. stands as a stalwart force in championing the fundamental right to safe and decent housing for low-income families, with a special dedication to the welfare of senior citizens. Our unwavering commitment is embodied in six purpose-built complexes, two exclusively devoted to providing secure and comfortable residences for the elderly.

At our core is an unyielding mission—to furnish individuals and families, irrespective of economic status, with housing that goes beyond mere shelter. We are dedicated to ensuring that every home we provide is not just safe and decent but a catalyst for personal and communal growth.

In just a few years after its establishment, the Mississippi Housing Development Corporation, in partnership with local community entities, transformed four apartment complexes: Pace Apartment Homes, Pace Manor, Gunnison Acres, and Winstonville Manor. Once overlooked and underutilized, these complexes now bustle with community spirit and hope. Beneficiaries range from the elderly finding solace and security to the young being inspired by financial literacy sessions. Our joint efforts have done more than just rejuvenate buildings; they've reignited dreams and aspirations. Through shared endeavors, we're crafting not just homes but a brighter future for all residents.
